Kristjan Koren, a racer from Slovenia will join in the World Championships in Geelong, Australia this October 3 along with his newfound confidence. His very first professional win was the GP Camaiore yesterday versus his Italian competitors.

Koren, currently 23 years old, won versus Italian Champion Giovanni Visconti (ISD-Neri) as well as Francesco Ginanni (Androni) in a 100 meters race. According to Paolo Bettini, the national sports director, it was a sad result for both Italians who didn’t win the race. Just last month, Koren rode his first Grand Tour with the support of Ivan Basso and even featured in an escape on the stage to Tourmalet.

Last Tuesday night, one winning streak ended as Hungary together with Slovenia are the only teams with the undefeated teams within Division I Group B. During the first two periods, the Slovenian team was faster, trickier as well as their passes are more dangerous with more shots on goal. The result finished with a score of 2-0 for Slovenia.
