Russian Anna Chakvetadze of Russia triumphed over Swede Johanna Larsson of Sweden with a score of 6-1, 6-2 during the Slovenia Open final last Sunday. This is her first WTA Tour Title after she last won two and a half years ago.

In each set, Chakvetadze broke twice versus Larsson, who was playing for her first final and who unluckily missed all three breakpoint chances during the second set. At present, Chakvetadze holds a total of 8 WTA Tour titles wherein her last one was from February 2008 held at Paris.

Although during the top five game in 2007, Anna Chakvetadze fell into the 103rd rank, during her game in Portoroz, Slovenia, she ousted three outstanding players namely Sara Errani, Vera Dushevina as well as Polona Hercog to reach the finals. Though the match was delayed for 2 hours due to rain, Anna Chakvetadze successfully won her title.

This Sunday, Anna Chakvetadze from Russia and Johanna Larsson from Sweden will be meeting for Slovenia Open finals. This was after they defeated their conquered the game last Saturday.

Russian player Chakvetadze got her first final after two years as she defeated Polona Hercog 0-6, 6-2, 6-2. Swede player Larsson, on the other hand, got her first WTA final when her opponent Russian Ksenia Pervak got a wrist injury during the trailing 6-2, 1-0.

Anna Chakvetadze got her last title out of her 7 WTA titles in the year 2008. She was also the top 5 place during the WTA 2007. Johanna Larsson got the 84th ranked when she Sofia Arvidsson as well as Anastasia Pavlyuchenko during the quarterfinals.
