Goran Dragic, from Phoenix Suns scored 18 points thus letting Slovenia get into the elimination round of the World Championship. Slovenia won with a 65-60 victory versus Iran last Thursday.

Slovenia (4-1) were winners of their last three games right after losing to the United States to get the no.2 seed from Group B. Slovenia will now be competing with Australia, the No. 3 seed from Group A this coming Sunday.

Miha Zupan from Slovenia scored 15 points, Sani Becirovic and Bostjan Nachbar each scored 10 points. The game ended with Hamed Haddadi of the Memphis Grizzlies scoring 15 points for Iran. On the other hand, Arsalan Kazemi scored 13 points as well as 14 rebounds.

Slovenia just recently won over Australia with 71-60 winning the title of Stankovic Basketball Continental Cup. It was the second Stankovic Cup championship of Slovenia after they beat China in 2006 to get their very first Stankovic Cup trophy.

Sani Becirovic from Slovenia scored 20 points but Goran Dragic got the title of the “Most Valuable Player” who scored 13 points and 3 assists. The game was generally a defensive game from both sides. During the first quarter, there wasn’t a clear lead while in the second quarter Slovenia outscored Australia with 29-27. But, on the third round, Australia got ahead of Slovenia with 42-49. Slovenia however got the fourth round and won the game with 71-60.
