The 31st meeting of hikers from three countries in Tromej namely Austria, Italy, and Slovenia happens every second Sunday of September. The said meeting is organized by the Tourist Board of Rateče, Arnoldstein and Tarvisio. This started since 1979 thus considered a long tradition which signifies the friendship as well as understanding among the stated countries regardless of the official country borders.

During the morning, thousands of visitors coming from Austria, Italy and Slovenia started from their own side and ascend to the top of Mt. Peč which is approximately 1509 meters from where they can witness magnificent scenery of the mountains as well as valleys surrounding the place. The participants spent the entire day together taking pleasure in the great food, drink and music.

At the Alpine border area in between Slovenia and Austria, a new geological park, or perhaps geopark will be created which is dedicated for the protection and preservation of the natural as well as cultural heritage of both countries.

This geological park will consist of approximately 1,000 square kilometers of land area that contains about 50,000 inhabitants from both Slovenia and Austraia. This geopark is projected to be launched in September wherein the European Union has given them 2.5 million euros to be added on their funds.

To support sustainable progress and development as well as to improve the -border cooperation of the 11 municipalities which are part of this project is the acknowledged goal of this three-year project.

The said geopark will be placed between the Peca and Obir regions consist of a mining heritage that is 300 years old which is located at the Periadriatic Seam. This is a geological fault that outlines the Adriatic and European plates division. In the said mining site, uncommon minerals, fossils as well as stone age remains of the inhabitants of that area can be found there.

This park will be basically focusing for the enjoyment of both the children as well as the young individuals. This will as well be a member of the European Geopark Network under the support of the UNESCO which now composes of 53 geoparks within 17 countries.
